Face to Face with Brumby
A0 is a Limited edition of 100 and only 50 are available from this website.
This shot wasn’t something I planned. I was out in the alpine region of Kiandra for a landscape shoot when two wild horses suddenly appeared through the mist. They were calm, quiet, and entirely in their element. One of them—this dark horse—walked toward me, slowly and deliberately, and then just stood there, staring.
There was something about the way it looked at me—steady, unbothered, and almost curious. I felt an odd sense of connection in that moment. When I edited the image later, I decided to darken the surroundings and focus the attention on the face and eyes. I wanted the photo to reflect how it felt standing there: quiet, a little surreal, and intense in a calm way.
Face to Face with Brumby is about that unexpected moment of connection. Sometimes, it’s not the landscape that stays with you—it’s the unexpected encounters that happen while chasing it.
Printed on museum-grade archival paper, this piece is available in a limited edition of 200 in each size except A1. On A1, 50 prints are available on this website. Each piece is signed, numbered, and accompanied by a certificate of authenticity.
